Do you ever find yourself having a hard time breathing (shortness of breath), feeling overwhelmed, sweaty hands, muscle tension (headache, neck pain, back pain) disorganized thinking (racing thoughts), tightness in your chess, digestive problems (stomach problems, IBS) or problems sleeping (laying down, but worrying at night)?
Having anxiety is normal. It is normal to feel anxiety toward starting a new job, new relationship, going to a new school, going through break up, planning a vacation, parent's divorce, and so on. However, anxiety can also feel exhausting and paralysing. Having continued anxiety can stop us from moving forward us in our daily life.
Growing up, everybody feels some anxiety. Kids feel anxiety mostly in their bodies (stomach ache, muscle tension, IBS). Adults feel their anxiety both emotionally and physically, however they might not be aware of the triggers that have caused their anxiety. If you have find yourself feeling worried or anxious, please talk to someone.
In personal therapy, I will help you decrease your anxious symptoms through exploring and managing negative self talk, increasing social support, psychiatrist evaluation (if necessary), relaxation techniques, and other interventions to fit your needs.
